Please Silence Your Engine: Council OKs Paramus Drive-In Theaters
Two drive-in theaters, one in Westfield Garden State Plaza and another near Paramus Park, have been approved by the borough council.
PARAMUS, NJ — Missing the movies? There's good news coming for Paramus movie buffs this summer.
According to reports from Northjersey.com and TapInto, the Paramus Borough Council approved requests for drive-in movie theaters in two separate parking lots at a June 9 meeting.
Digital Sound, Light and Video will host the drive-in movie screenings in a parking lot at 49 East Midland Ave., near Paramus Park. The company scheduled screenings from July until the end of October, according to the reports.

Mega Bite Events will host their screenings in the parking lot of the Garden State Plaza, starting in October.
According to TapInto, Mayor Richard LaBarbiera said the temporary use of parking lots was reviewed by a team consisting of members of the Building Department, Zoning Board, Engineering and Fire Protection.

In a subtle bit of irony, according to Northjersey.com, the Paramus Drive-In, demolished in the 1980s, was turned into a parking lot at Garden State Plaza.
