Public Works Merger to be Introduced in Tuesday Meeting

The ordinance was pulled at the Feb. 22 meeting.

The Borough Mayor and Council will introduce an ordance to bring the former departments of Fleet Maintenance and Buildings and Grounds under the department of Public Works at Tuesday night's meeting.

The ordinance would have been introduced at the Feb. 22 meeting, but was pulled because it was incomplete. The merger of the departments would alone on the $127,375 salary of former Public Works Supertintendent Brian Koenig, Joseph D'Arco, Borough Administrator, said.

Koenig's successor, Guy Picone, was the head of Fleet Maintanence, making $113,492. He'll make the same salary while still leading Fleet Maintenance and four other divisions as head of Public Works.

Before the regular meeting, the Mayor and Council will hold a public budget meeting at 6 p.m., when Alan Brundage, Councilman and Budget Committee Chairman, hopes to submit a budget for public review.
