Rotary District 7490 End Hunger Initiative: Oct 22nd Halloween Against Hunger Event

Annual food collection and packaging drive to bundle thousands of nutrient-rich meals for area food bank.

Among its many efforts to support New Jersey’s food insecure, Rotary District 7490 is sponsoring Halloween Against Hunger 2016 on Saturday, October 22 at the Hope Community Center in Paterson. Now in its fourth year, the District’s annual food collection and packaging event involves hundreds of volunteers bundling nutrient-rich meals, which will be donated to CUMAC, a Paterson-based nonprofit working to alleviate hunger and its root causes.

At a cost of just $25 for 100 meals, the Rotary looks to raise $17,500 to achieve this year's goal of 70,000
meals. To be a Sponsor of Halloween Against Hunger 2016 or register as a volunteer visit http://rotaryhalloweenagainsthunger2016.weebly.com/. Meal ingredients are provided by The Outreach Program, a nonprofit that organizes food packaging events around the country.

Day-of volunteers are also encouraged to bring food and non-perishable items, which will be donated to CUMAC and Rotary District 7490's Military Family Assistance Center.
