Woman Struck In Paramus Hit-And-Run Accident On Route 17 N: Report

PARAMUS, NJ - A 20-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by an SUV on Route 17 North Tuesday night, police said.

The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. near the Toys "R" Us store, The Record reported.

Police said they were looking for a black Toyota SUV that had damage to its right fender and right-side mirror, Paramus police said in the report.

Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.

Route 17 North at A&S Drive was closed more than an hour after the accident due to police activity, an alert issued by the police department said. They were expected to remain closed until after midnight.
