Sen. Menendez To Honor 'Trailblazing' Bergen Woman

Audrey Meyers is president and CEO of Valley Health System.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A local resident will be honored as a "trailblazer" by Sen. Bob Menendez Sunday.

Audrey Meyers of Ridgewood will be presented with the Evangelina Menendez Trailblazer Award Sunday. Meyers is president and CEO of Valley Health System.

Meyers began her career at Valley in 1980 as a planning associate. She has served in several administrative positions throughout her 38-year tenure. She was named president and CEO of The Valley Hospital in 1999.

Meyers has received several awards throughout her career, including the Tribute to Women and Industry Award from the YWCA of Bergen County.

Meyers was named one of the Best 50 Women in Business by NJBIZ magazine in 2014. She was included in state Senator Loretta Weinberg's women's Power List from 2014 through 2017.

The Evangelina Menendez Trailblazer Award was created in tribute to the senator's late mother. A Cuban immigrant, she died in 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
