A dynamic, new redevelopment of The Shops at Riverside
Simon, a global leader in retail real estate, announced today a dynamic, new redevelopment of The Shops at Riverside, which will take this luxury fashion center to even greater heights.
This summer, Simon will start construction at The Shops at Riverside on a multi-use, multi-level space which will house a variety of new and exciting retail, restaurant and entertainment concepts. The location formerly occupied by Saks Fifth Avenue, fronts the highly-trafficked Route 4 with incomparable access and visibility
Eric Sadi, Senior Vice President of Leasing for Simon said, “This piece of real estate is second to none in the marketplace. It checks off all the boxes for potential retailers and restaurateurs – ease of access, ample parking, and a tremendous multi-level branding opportunity with exposure to 100,000+ cars a day that pass our center.”

Guests will enjoy their 4k (4,000 pixels) movie experience while sitting in their plush, power recliners that lean back with the push of a button. AMC will also include MacGuffins, a bar and lounge serving a full complement of craft beers, wine and cocktails, and the Marketplace, offering an expanded menu of food and drink that goes beyond traditional popcorn and soda.
“We’re excited to bring guests at The Shops at Riverside and residents in the Bergen County area our amazing movie-going amenities that have made AMC the guest experience leader,” said Mark McDonald, Executive Vice President, Development AMC. “The theatre’s unique and upscale furnishings and state-of-the-art features will be perfect complements to the luxury shopping experience at The Shops at Riverside.”
“It isn’t often you are given a chance to execute your vision in a luxury center such as The Shops at Riverside,” said Stephen Shea, Simon’s Vice President of Development. “We are tremendously excited to get going and believe our loyal shoppers are going to be very pleased with the result.” Shea added that leasing interest in the space is strong.
The Pinstripes concept has proved extremely popular at its existing seven locations. The Shops at Riverside location will occupy 31,000 square feet of first and second floor indoor/outdoor space, and will bring a distinctive, high-quality dining and entertainment experience to Bergen County and the surrounding communities. The venue will feature an exceptional Italian and American cuisine and wine cellar, 16 bowling lanes, 10 indoor and outdoor bocce courts, an outdoor patio and fire pit, and event space accommodating 20 to 600 people.
Guests can curl up with a blanket in front of the outdoor fireplace with a cocktail or gather with friends for an evening of bowling/bocce and dinner. This will be the first location for Pinstripes in the metropolitan New York/N.J. area with other current locations in Northbrook, South Barrington, Oak Brook and Chicago, Ill; Edina, Minn; Georgetown, D.C.; and Overland Park, Kan.
“The Shops at Riverside is a first-class retail center in an exciting area,” said Dale Schwartz, Pinstripes’ CEO and Founder. “We are excited to work with Simon to design and construct our unique vision and offer the surrounding communities and businesses a winning combination of dining and entertainment.”
