'Think Pink' at The Shops at Riverside

A series of 'Think Pink' events throughout the month of October

The Shops at Riverside today announced that it will help support the fight against breast cancer by engaging employees, retailers and shoppers in a series of ‘Think Pink’ events throughout the month of October.

“As an active member in this community, The Shops at Riverside provides an ideal backdrop for raising awareness and encouraging support in finding a cure for breast cancer, a disease we know affects many of our employees, retailers and shoppers every year,” said Lisa Polino, director of marketing and business development for The Shops at Riverside.

Visitors to The Shops at Riverside will notice pink elements in various locations throughout the center, including the Guest Services booth, exterior entrances and restrooms. Staff will be honoring National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donning pink accessories as well.

On Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Shops at Riverside is teaming up with Holy Name Medical Center in presenting Women’s Health & Wellness Day that will include a Fashion Walk of Hope featuring breast cancer survivors, a healthy cooking segment and a yoga demonstration. Guests will also have a chance to speak with physicians from Holy Name Medical Center who will answer questions about breast cancer and other health concerns as well as provide wellness screening and consultations. In addition, no-cost flu shots will be given between 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 2-4 p.m. to the first 100 adults at each session. Main event is on the level one by Barnes & Noble. Health Screenings and Flu Shots are located by Lilly Pulitzer.

On Sunday, September 25 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the lower level, Conference Center. Holy Name Medical Center will host a medical discussion focusing on gynecological and breast cancer updates along with consultations with physician specialists from the Holy Name Physician Network and health and wellness screenings.

Throughout October, Guest Services will be offering complimentary pink ribbons and a pink flower on Fridays and Saturdays, while supplies last. In addition, a Wall of Strength & Hope will be on display by Lilly Pulitzer, which provides an opportunity for survivors, supporters and their families to visually share what gives them strength and hope during their fight with breast cancer. During Photo Saturdays, survivors and families can have their photo taken while holding their message of strength between noon and 4p.m. All donations to benefit the Holy Name Medical Center Foundation.
