Video Game Robber Flung Security Guard To The Ground, Police Say
Donnie L. Broadnax, 46, tried hiding from police near a clothing rack in a store, authorities said.

A New York was charged with robbery and resisting arrest after he allegedly stole video games from a Target store and threw a security guard to the ground Thursday, said Paramus police Deputy Chief Robert M. Guidetti.
Donnie L. Broadnax, 46, fled the Target store in Paramus at the Outlets at Bergen Town Center without paying for hundreds of dollars of Playstation 4 and Wii video games, Guidetti said.
A store security guard attempted to detain Broadnax but Broadnax grabbed him around his neck and flung him to the ground, police said.

Officer Mark Pinajian saw Broadnax fleeing in the parking lot and circling back into the mall, police said.
Pinajian found Broadnax tried to hide near a clothing rack in a store in the mall, Guidetti said. Pinajian also found $450 in video games under a vehicle in the parking that Broadnax threw away while fleeing.

Broadnax, a Spring Valley, N.Y., had a magnetic anti-theft tag remover in possession when he was arrested, police said. He was charged with robbery in the second degree, resisting arrest, and possession of burglary tools.
Broadnax was remanded to the Bergen County Jail on $100,000 bail. He is due to appear in court Jan. 13.
