PARAMUS, N.J. — A former Paramus Catholic High School guidance counselor has filed a lawsuit against the school, its president, and the Archdiocese of Newark alleging she was fired because she married a woman.

Kate Drumgoole claims in the suit that her firing at the hands of the Archdiocese of Newark, the school, and its president, James P. Vail, was a violation of discrimination laws and was done to inflict emotional distress.
