1,600 Power Outages In Parsippany Amid Extreme Heat

JCP&L expects power to return by 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Part of Parsippany experienced power outages Tuesday evening as the area continues to deal with extreme heat. Jersey Central Power & Light has logged 1,619 outages in town — 6.75 percent of Parsippany.

The electric company expects power back by 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Morris County is experiencing about 3,500 outages as of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, including 1,181 in Florham Park and 441 in Chatham Borough.

The temperature in Parsippany is 95 degrees as of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The evening's temperatures will see a low of 74, with a chance of precipitation and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
