$188,376 Granted to Parsippany Historic Preservation Projects

Some $3.5 million awarded to more than a dozen municipalities for continuation of work on historic buildings.

Under a total grant approval of more than $3.5 million Wednesday night, the Morris County Board of Freeholders awarded $188,376 for the continuation of restoration to two historic Parsippany properties.

More than a dozen municipalities received grants from the county based on recommendations of the Historic Preservation Program.

  • Craftsman Farms – Window Restoration, $150,000
  • Smith-Baldwin House – Preservation Plan, $38,376

“This money will help finance the vitally important task of preserving and sustaining our county’s heritage, to restore and protect important links to the past are key connectors to how this county developed,” said Freeholder Director Kathy DeFillippo in a statement.

“The historic restoration work done with the help of these grants will allow future generations to fully enjoy and treasure these historic sites, which enhance the quality of life for all residents of Morris County,” added Freeholder John Cesaro.
