3 Unlocked Cars Stolen From Parsippany Home, 1 Found

Newark police found one of the vehicles and returned it to the home.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Three unlocked vehicles, with keys left inside, were stolen from a Parsippany home June 12. Authorities recovered and returned one of the cars, police told Patch.

The thefts occurred between 5:30 and 6 a.m. June 12 at a Smith Road home, said Sgt. Brian Conover. Newark police found one of the vehicles in their city and returned it to the owner.

No suspects have been named, and the incident remains under investigation.

Parsippany police reminded people to remove keys from their vehicles, lock doors and hide and remove valuables.

"Vehicle thefts and burglaries are a region-wide issue," police said in a Facebook message.
