4-Month Construction Project To Begin On Route 46 In Parsippany

The rehabilitation of a water main is set to begin around June 13, with construction during place on weekday nights.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A four-month construction project on Route 46 in Parsippany is set to begin soon. The township's contractor will rehabilitate an existing water main on the roadway between Troy and Crown Point Roads.

Construction is scheduled to begin around June 13, and the township expects it to last until Oct. 14. Work hours will occur weekdays from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Final restoration will take place next spring.

J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. will clean and install a structural liner in about 6,200 feet of an existing 10-inch, cast-iron water main. Those along the project route will receive temporary water service once the existing water main is taken out of service for rehabilitation.

When the existing water main is back in service, people may experience a temporary service interruption or slight discoloration of water. If this happens, let the water run until it's clear, the township says.

Traffic restrictions and/or lane closures will occur during work hours. The township says advanced notice will be provided before any driveway-access restrictions. All residents and emergency vehicles will be allowed access during construction.
