Academic Achievers: Parsippany High Decathletes Romp Through NJ Region

Local teenagers crowned champions of SuperQuiz.

They’re really, really good.

All 16 students – nine members and seven alternates – of the Parsippany High School Academic Decathlon team not only garnered 111 total awards at the recent regional competition, they grabbed first place in the competition.

The team won the SuperQuiz, which gave them the New Jersey Regional Competition title.

The academic decathlon is a 10-event scholastic competition for high school students, including math, social science, literature, economics, art, music, speech, essay and interview.

This year’s theme is New Alternatives in Energy: Ingenuity and Innovation.

Parsippany is coached by Nancy Lennon and Stacy Cozin, science teacher and media specialist, respectively, at the high school.

The team consists of Anne Cheng, Spencer Huang, Rohan Khajuria, Nikita Kolotov, Shivam Patel, Lizzie Tu, Emily Weng, Josh Wong, and Sam Wu.
