Parsippany Summer Concert Postponed Due To Weather: See Details

This is not the first time this year that the weekly summer show has been canceled on account of the weather.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Turbulent weather has once again forced Parsippany to postpone its weekly summer concert.

Embers the Band was scheduled to take the Parsippany stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, with festivities kicking off at 6 p.m.

"Out of an abundance of caution due to tonight's inclement weather - and the logistics involved in safely setting up the concert, bounce houses, and other lawn activities - we are postponing this evening's concert," a statement read. "We know Mother Nature doesn't always cooperate with our plans!"

The threat of flash flooding and severe thunderstorms across New Jersey continued to increase Thursday, with the National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center upgrading portions of the state, including Trenton and central and northern New Jersey, to a moderate risk of excessive rainfall.

The moderate risk area extends from Philadelphia northeastward into central and northern New Jersey, forecasters said. A moderate risk means instances of flash flooding could be fairly widespread and potentially significant within the affected area.

Embers the Band will return to Parsippany at a later date. Check out the township's social media pages for details.

The Concert Series

Free live music, food trucks and family-friendly entertainment are returning to Veterans Memorial Park this summer.

Mayor Pulkit Desai and the Township of Parsippany have announced the lineup for the 2026 Summer Concert Series, which features seven evenings of live performances from July 16 (postponed) and running through Aug. 27.

Each concert will include food trucks, games, amusements and activities for all ages. Events begin at 6 p.m., with the featured bands taking the stage at 7:30 p.m.

Embers the Band was set to be the penultimate concert of the series. On Aug. 27, Band of Make Believe will take the stage, weather permitting, of course.

Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the outdoor performances.

Township officials are asking attendees to leave pets at home. In the event of inclement weather, the township said it will announce an alternate date or location for affected concerts.

The annual concert series is sponsored by Provident Bank.
