PARSIPPANY, NJ — Drivers traveling on I-280 westbound in Parsippany will face overnight ramp closures for three consecutive nights this week as crews continue bridge maintenance work, state transportation officials announced.
The I-280 westbound ramp connecting to I-287 and Route 46 will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights this week, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).
The closures are necessary to paint the I-80 eastbound bridge over I-280 and Route 46 as part of a larger preventative maintenance project, officials said.
During the closures, motorists will be directed to follow posted detours using I-80.

The closures are part of an $8.5 million federally funded project to repaint 10 bridges along I-80 in Morris and Bergen counties.
According to NJDOT, preventative maintenance such as bridge painting helps protect steel structures from corrosion, extend their operational lifespan, and keep bridges in good condition.
The timing of the closures may change depending on weather or other factors.
