Governor's Wife Honors Some of Parsippany's New Jersey Heroes

Mary Pat Christie, the governor's wife visited Avis Budget Group on Sylvan Way in Parsippany last Thursday to pay tribute to community-minded residents.

The state's first lady was on hand for Avis' “Rolling Pride Rally,” an event the company held to celebrate the contributions of its employees. 

As part of the Parsippany festivities, Ronald L. Nelson, chairman and chief executive officer of Avis Budget Group presented Christie with a $10,000 check for New Jersey Heroes. The program, founded by the governor's spouse, recognizes and celebrates the work done by individuals and nonprofit organizations across the Garden State.

“I’m very proud to have the opportunity to showcase some of New Jersey’s amazing and inspiring residents, who through their selfless commitment to their neighbors and their communities, are helping to make the Garden State a better place,” she said.  “With strong private sector partners like Avis Budget Group, New Jersey Heroes will continue to encourage, recognize, and support how ordinary citizens and organizations are truly making a difference in their own distinctive ways.”
