BAPS Charities Hosts Affordable Care Act Enrollment Drive in Parsippany,NJ

Parsippany, NJ – With the open enrollment deadline for the Affordable Care Act on the horizon, many Americans have yet to take action. The Act essentially mandates that individuals be enrolled in a qualified health insurance plan by January 15, 2016. This is the third such enrollment period to take place since the passing of the law, but yet many Americans still find the process, as well as the various options, to be daunting and mired in confusion.

In order to bridge this gap and help educate members of the community regarding quality, affordable healthcare options, BAPS Charities in Parsippany, NJ organized an Affordable Care Act – Awareness & Enrollment Drive on January 10, 2016. The event was held in conjunction with the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and their initiative to generate awareness to all in the community. In total, nearly 47 members of the local community attended and actively participated in the drive.

As part of the event, enrollment specialists from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) were on hand to provide attendees with personal guidance on understanding the entire enrollment process. Specialists provided assistance on navigating the healthcare exchange websites as well as determining the best possible plan to meet individual and family needs. Additionally, specialists were able to review plans of existing enrollees to ensure that no other better options were available.
