The annual BAPS Charities walk, held on June 21 2015 in Parsippany helped raise support for Carol G. Simon Cancer Center.

BAPS Charities Hosts Annual Community Walk in Parsippany NJ

Shubh began his Sunday bright and early. Accompanied by his grandfather, both were eager to contribute to the betterment of their community. For the last 8 weeks Shubh and his grandfather had taken up the cause of raising funds to support their local BAPS Charities walk. Even at the ages of 15 and 81, they had come together and raised over $1100!

The annual BAPS Charities walk, held on June 21 2015 in Parsippany helped raise support for Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. Patients who need cancer treatment services turn to Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center. They offer: Comprehensive, state-of-the-art treatment services, provided by board-certified physicians. Representative Jigisha Kothari noted, “Every year Man and women lives are saved with Free cancer screening which is possible by BAPS Charities and dedicated volunteers who raise funds during walkathon”

This year, over 260 individuals of all ages joined together to walk in support of Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. The walk commenced with a traditional prayer for world peace and an opening speech by Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen “New Jersey has best Oncologists and BAPS Charities being here to raise money for remarkable cause which bring hopes in people lives....”.

Upon completing the 2.8 mile walk, Shubh proudly stated “Today, I walked with my grandfather who is affected by free cancer screening. I feel very grateful to not only have been able to participate in the fight against cancer, but also to help create awareness within our community.” Shubh cannot wait to participate again in the future, raise even more funds and continue to spread awareness about issues pertinent to bettering our society.
