One In Custody After Bomb Squad Responds To Parsippany Travelodge

It was not immediately clear what sparked the heavy police presence, but the Prosecutor's Office says there is no danger to the community.

PARSIPPANY, NJ— One man is in custody after the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police and the Morris County bomb squad responded to an incident at the Travelodge Hotel on Route 46 Wednesday morning, the Morris County Prosecutor's office said. They did not specify the type of incident.

"The subject is in custody and there were no injuries reported at the scene," Steven Murzenski from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office told Patch. There is no danger to the community." He told Patch there was no other information currently available.

Multiple cars from police and the county sheriff's office were at the hotel around 9:45 a.m, according to an NJ.com report. Residents told Patch there were multiple law enforcement cars speeding through the area, including bomb squad trucks.
