Budget Constraints Close Parsippany Recycling Center On Weekends
Some residents criticized the decision to close the center on weekends until November.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — The township announced it will close the recycling center on weekends until November. Some residents have criticized the decision on social media.
In a Facebook post, the township announced the upcoming closure due to "budgetary constraints."
The recycling center normally operates from 7 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturdays. The center is closed Sundays.

"We apologize for the inconvenience," the township said.
But the township received flack from some respondents on social media.

"Why not close on a weekday so you can keep Saturday hours which are important to a lot of residents?" wrote one resident.

"So people that work all week and can only go on Saturdays. We will not be able to utilize the recycling center until November," said another. "Like said before close down during the week one day. What does our property tax get us again? And people wonder why everyone is leaving this state."
The township did not return Patch's request for comment in time for initial publication. Patch will update with any response.
