Candlelight Vigil For Mallory Grossman In Rockaway This Thursday
The candlelit vigil will honor 12-year-old Mallory Grossman, who died by suicide in June after what her parents said was intense bullying.

ROCKAWAY, NJ — Family and friends of Mallory Grossman are holding a candlelight vigil this Thursday to honor the 12-year-old who died by suicide in June.
Held exactly three months after Grossman took her own life, the vigil is also a stand against bullying, the event description says. Grossman's parents have said Mallory was the victim of intense and non-stop bullying, both in person at Copeland Middle School and online through apps like Snapchat and Instagram.
The vigil is hosted by Mallory's Army, an anti-bullying group started by mother Diane Grossman following Mallory's death. The charitable foundation has been raising money for anti-bullying efforts and provides anti-bullying educational materials. The Grossmans are currently suing the Rockaway Township School District, who they say failed to address the bullying Mallory faced. The district said they took appropriate steps, but cannot comment on the pending litigation.
The candlelight vigil will begin at 8 p.m. at the White Meadow lake County Club in Rockaway. You can RSVP on Facebook here.
