Freedom Quilt Project - In honor of Martin Luther King Day, children of any age colored a paper quilt square to add to the bulletin board

Freedom Quilt Project - In honor of Martin Luther King Day, children of any age colored a paper quilt square to add to the bulletin board in the Lake Hiawatha Children's Department The quilt square patterns represent secret messages designed to help slaves travel safely to freedom on the Underground Railroad. (see attached display and quilt information).

At the Parsippany Library on Wednesday, January 17, the Children's Department held the program- All About Martin Luther King, Jr., children listened to stories about Martin Luther King, Jr. and made the attached Peace themed craft.
