Community Hope Holds Event for At-Risk New Jersey Veterans
Veterans can access legal resources, health screenings, flu shots, hair cuts, housing referrals, employment assistance, and more.

WHIPPANY, NJ – A nonprofit that serves New Jersey homeless veterans and veteran families will host the "Fifth Annual Stand Down in Morristown," where organization members can directly reach out to at-risk veterans. The event is run by Community Hope, and will be held on Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ukrainian-American Cultural Center on 60 N. Jefferson Road in Whippany.
At-risk or homeless veterans and their families can access free Federal, State, public and private support at "Stand Down." Services provided at the event include legal resources, health and dental screenings, flu shots, hair cuts, housing referrals, lunch, employment assistance, social and personal care services and more.
“What makes this Stand Down, stand out is the personalized attention and care given to each veteran," Stand Down Co-Chair Jenn Stivers said. "Volunteer Guides greet and walk them through all the support and personal options to ensure each veteran’s needs are met. All participants are greeted with a beverage station and receive a nutritious lunch.”

Community Hope is a leading charity helping homeless veterans and needy veteran families in the state. The nonprofit provides housing services to veterans. support with mental illness, and holds many events where veterans can receive help.
Veterans can attend this event by free transportation provided at locations in seven New Jersey counties: Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex and Warren. Find specific pickup and drop off locations here.
