MOUNT TABOR, NJ — A cat's curiosity prompted firefighters to rush over Friday morning to a Mount Tabor apartment.

The Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department responded to the home on Harry and Judy Drive because of a reported gas odor. When firefighters arrived, they found that a cat turned on the stove top when it jumped onto the counter.

The stove was secured, and the unit was ventilated, according to officials.
