6 Cars Burglarized In Parsippany

There have been a rash of car burglaries in the area recently.

PARSIPPANY, NJ— Wallets, purses and drain cleaning machines were stolen out of Parsippany cars during a recent rash of car burglaries.

The burglaries happened between Dec. 22 and Dec. 29, and were all after dark. In total, six cars were burglarized on four occasions.

On Dec. 22,a GMC Envoy and Honda Civic on Route 10 were broken into after the locks were tampered with. Purses with assorted personal items were stolen.

On Dec. 23, three cars were broken into. Two drain cleaning machines were stolen from a Ford Econoline F350 on New Road. That same night, two cars parked at Route 46 were broken into: one was unlocked, and one had the locks tampered with. Credit cards were stolen from both cars, and the suspect used the cards at various stores.

Overnight on Dec. 28, an unlocked Audi A4 was entered and various personal items were stolen.

Parsippany is not the only town to see an uptick in car burglaries. 15 cars in Madison and 5 in Florham Park, all unlocked, were broken into on Christmas night.

The Parsippany incidents are still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call the Parsippany Police Department’s Investigative Division at 973-263-4311.
