Election Guide: Where To Vote, Who's On The Ballot in Parsippany

Packed local race for Parsippany council joined by contentious Freeholder competition.

The run-up to Tuesday’s Primary Election has been loud, but certainly not clear in Parsippany. A heavy ballot will see a total of 10 residents vying for three seats on the township council, two of which are incumbents.

Seven Republicans and three Democrats have thrown their hats in the ring with hopes of reaching the November General Election ballot and a subsequent four-year term.

Republican candidates include, in alphabetical order:

  • John Beehler
  • Paul Carifi, Jr. (Incumbent)
  • Micheael J. dePierro (Incumbent)
  • Vincent Ferrara
  • Loretta Gragnani
  • Aida Visakay

Democratic candidates include, in alphabetical order:

  • Gregory Elbin
  • Thomas Fulco
  • Nicholas Kumburis
  • Janice McCarthy

Carifi, Beehler, and Visakay make up a team, while dePierro, Ferrara, and Gragnani are running as a trio. All other candidates are running as individuals, but the three residents with the most votes will be nominated for the November ballot, regardless of team affiliation.

Michael Patrick Carroll and Anthony M. Bucco are opposed by Democrats Richard Corcoran and Thomas Moran for the General Assembly for two open spots in the November Election.

The all-GOP Freeholder race has gained much attention, with seven candidates seeking three seats.

They include the team of John Krickus, David Scapicchio, and Deb Smith running against the trio of John Cesaro, Christine Myers, and Angelo Tedesco. Lastly, Thomas Mulligan is also running but unaffiliated with any other candidate.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2.
