Field of Dreams: Parsippany Baseball Star Invited to Play on National Stage

Ty Sallie's summer will be filled with opportunities to show his skills across the country and potentially represent USA in global event.

Ty Sallie is no stranger to success on the baseball diamond, but his most recent accomplishments may take him global.

And he’s only 12.

Sallie, who’s been playing baseball for Par-Troy Little League West since he was five, took first place in the Yankee Stadium Pitch, Hit, and Run contest in 2013. It was just the start, apparently.

Fast forward two years later to Tuesday, June 9, and Sallie was selected to play on the 11U NorthEast All-American Team for the USSSA All-American Games. The region players were pulled from include New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware. The All-American Games are scheduled for Aug. 2 through 7 at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Florida.

On top of that, Sallie was selected as one of the top 100 12U players to participate in the 2015 National Open for 12U Team USA.

Sallie will be evaluated by Major League scouts and former players. The National Open will be held July 13 to 15 at the MLB Youth Academy in California. From there, 24 players from the National Open will be selected to participate in the Team Trials from July 16 to 18, and 12 players will be chosen from there to represent America at the 12U World Cup in Tainan, Taiwan from July 21 to Aug. 3.

Friends of the family have also begun a fundraiser for Sallie to fully experience these opportunities, which come with travel and lodging costs. A GoFundMe page has been established that will directly benefit the young star. See it – and donate – here.

While Sallie’s summer may just beginning, his bright baseball career is in full swing.
