Five Dead In Coronavirus Outbreak At Greystone Psych Hospital

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - More than half of the new coronavirus outbreak deaths in psychiatric facilities in the state happened in the Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, according to the New Jersey Department of Health.

A total of nine deaths have been reported in facilities around New Jersey with five at Greystone, officials said. The facility, located in Morris Plains and Parsippany, houses 338 patients, 45 of which have tested positive for COVID-19.

The 510 bed hospital also had more than 100 staff members test positive for COVID-19, officials said.

Across the state, there are 1,251 patients split among several facilities and 152 patients tested positive. In New Jersey there are 386 staff members COVID-19 positive as of Monday.

• Current Patient Census: 179

Trenton Psychiatric Hospital

• Total Positive Patients: 37
• Total Positive Staff: 200
• Total Patient Deaths: 3
• Current Patient Census: 346
