Former Two-Term Parsippany Mayor To Be Honored With Plaque

John Fahy led the township in the 1970s and died in town in 2013.

During two terms as mayor of Parsippany-Troy Hills Township John Fahy was instrumental in the start of many programs for the municipality.

Because of his leadership, John “Jack” Fahy will be honored for his years of service to the township by the current governing body on Tuesday, June 17 at the mayor and council’s regular meeting.

Fahy is credited with the introduction of senior housing and transportation, and also introduced Green Acres funding for preservation of the Knoll Country Club & Golf Course. Township recreation programs were also expanded and the Parsippany Day Care Center began during his two terms, which began in 1974.
