Governor Christie using NJDEP to Subvert water protections against the public trust
rather than build on advances made in environmental law and common trust principals the Governor is using his executive power to weaken them
Christie wants to turn Highlands Preservation area into Planning Zone.
This Governor a former US District Attorney for NJ has done all in his power to demise the Public Trust by spending his time going out of his way to slander, demise and destroy advances made in protecting for a future generation our natural resources by attacking the Highlands & Pinelands Water Protection Legislation enacted in 2004 by overwhelming bi-partisan support.
This legislation, Highlands Water Protection Act, was a definitive affirmation of the public trust principal of law. Water as a common resource goes back over 2000 years in Roman law, Magna Carter 800 incorporates the public trust principle and is a foundation of our Constitution. Christie subverts these foundations not in the name of the People of NJ, but for private economic interest. These rules are not based on science, but flawed economic concepts for an uneconomic economy. science figures but figures don't make science. He has ordered the NJDEP to subvert rather than uphold these great advances and ancient principals of the common trust. His NJDEP spells developers engaged politicians.
Developers have plenty of latitude in the planning zones and other already built up areas. Encouraging speculation development more office, retail commercial when developed properties stand vacant or idle amounts to crimes against the environment. NJ has little room left for senseless "creative destruction type themes of short term and limited benefit, in fact no benefits to the citizens but to the builders and corporate land developers.

Governor Christie is the worse example of any public official for his time and place. NJ will be much better off when he leaves. From pipelines ,affordable housing and loss of sensitive landscapes for continued sprawl he remain not concerned for the land & people of this Original State.
Parsippanys depend on the buried valley aquifer for 65% of its water every summer a water deficient due to heavy draw down. 35% of our water then comes from jersey City and Morris Municipal without which we would not have enough water. Parsippany by ignoring protecting its environmentally sensitive area has only made the situation worse especially for the future of our water quality and quantity. All economies are grounded in ecology. Water and land are not commodities but commonly shared resources.

Urge all readers to find out more and speak up and oppose the Governors policies and attempts to ruin the common trust. we need patriots not politicians. Christie is not the man for the time or place. He is taxation without representation incarnate. He decides for us what is good for him. NJ resources are not for private use. If he has not the courage to make transitions for the future sustainability of our natural resources especially our water then, ask: where is the free and brave. He has sold himself to the corporate superpacs and is dragging all of NJ down with him.
With weakened Highlands protections Christie also makes it easier to slip through pipelines such as Pilgrim as weakening one aspect of such laws will surely lead to others. This is the result of the corporations are people mentality. A form of creative destruction, which is destruction none the less, more and more of our natural world and our link to it dethroned and trash for corporate profit over public trust health, safety welfare.
We are again a house divided segregated, corporate from civil society never more contrary views of the future of this nation. Never have we needed good government more than we do now. Shall we look forward to a State where our natural beauty is gone forever. Dismiss these proposed rule changes to the Highlands they are based on flawed science and morality.
Responsibility not Freedom is the key to a so-called free society. You can buy freedom however virtue cannot be bought but taught by setting examples in the Governor we have a poor one at that. Water does not come in a plastic bottle Mr. Christie!
