Governor Hopes to Weaken Advances made in Land Use Law & Science Lower the Standards Land for Money

Responsibility not freedom is what is required; along with some knowledge of how nature works for us already. Money drug of choice.

Alleged Citizens of Parsippany and Territories Thereupon Depending.

Why aren’t all you advocating for regional planning conformance? The Christie Administration is attempting to weaken even protection areas in the Highlands, environmental rules, laws concerning flood prone areas and stream corridors; imagine what he’ll allow developers in a planning zone; with no conformance, Wake Up. The future does not look good for NJ especially under this administration; apparently Parsippany republicans follow Christie’s agenda. He needs to pay for his limp Presidential Campaign; how with deals with big corporate developers. His solution to sprawl is more sprawl.

Christie’s agenda is, “property owners first, not environmental law; problem is expanded by most big property owners in this area are not from Parsippany; and our Master Plan has no strength, because of lawsuits and variances or rezoning attempts, to create jobs, which is not a local administration’s job. We have the UPS “redevelopment”; which is new land use; which is not redevelopment. The term is used “rezoning” in redevelopment to mean blighted areas or grey areas already developed, not new land destruction in forested areas, flood prone areas and watersheds, of which the UPS office complex is. These types of private economy pirates, want an economy with no regulations, and no oversight; in reality they oppose good government and science. (The world must conform to their individual dream).

Christie’s shadow eclipses Parsippany, as he has opposed regional planning, however all his assumptions and reasons do not hold water or truth. Undermining a great advancement like Regional Planning, is an crime against the environment and our children’s future; developers site plans are vague and one dimensional purposely to deceive and cut corners for maximum profits, these site plans deliberately blind one to distinguishing circumstances and landscape features, to avoid standards or additional standards; or whether certain landscapes are unsuitable for development at all, but better left as assets of open space, watershed management, historic preservation, or proper enterprise zones. In Parsippany’s case many developed areas; grey-zones already exist. The fact we are in a watershed appears to mean little, as our water health deteriorates, as the science shows from nitrates. These nitrates are all a direct result of development impacts.

Think why so many people already buy bottled water; because they don’t trust the water from their faucets. The fact or reality that plastic pollution is increasing, and degrading our once pleasing American landscapes, matters not to corporations that continue marketing bottled water, or to the average citizens any longer is also a sign of the times; lack of land ethic and civic virtue. (Plastic recycling is not working, costs more to incorporate and does not address most of the plastic is not retrieved but contaminates our landfills and landscapes).

The Christie Administration has increased corporate land development 400%; all this “new” development that has blighted the landscapes has the same corporate sameness, which disregards traditional senses of place and home. All along New Jersey Roads, you will see increases on new land use, which is slowly but surely bringing our State and our communities to Nowhere, Quick stores, 711, Dunkin Donuts, not small businesses, but corporate replication and depletion of our natural world which is the real giver of life. Our economy no longer serves us, and politicians that fail to see this and at the same time undermine science, ecology and community public values, need to be put out of office as they serve themselves only while they destroy our sustainable future. They plan for the very disasters and emergencies they help create. Follow the money, their drug of choice.

The 30 million dollar plus deal that domed Greystone Park; despite its value as an already known historic landscape, and groups organized to save it, was an example of Christie’s influence to keep Parsippany officials in his favor and reap cash for his political coffers. His same deal destroying the 1873 Caldwell Prison Historic landscape less known?

A nation that sells itself to International Markets, exports jobs overseas, implements austerity for working people with now substandard jobs and multi-jobs with substandard social assurances like health benefits, affordable living in general, while sanctioning tax heavens or breaks for these same corporations of over abundant affluence for its CEO’s and executives, now cries; no rules, no government just economy; a private economy that serves only them. When a nation desperate for work and meaning resorts to consuming itself with meaningless land destruction for the sake of a private economy, there is no United States.

No one has a right to enrich themselves exceedingly at the cost of others. Freedom has ended; Science not Politics, Civility and Sustainability, not private concerns and economic falsehoods. Our Dead have died in vain. God does not bless America, as we have turned our back to the Higher Power. Morris County and Parsippany is full of “Chistieites”. He may very well be the worse Governor ever; his vanity, lies and arrogance; playing President is costing us all dearly. Replacing watersheds and other landscapes of importance for short term monetary gain, is criminal in the eyes of science, faith and common sense of our time of climate change.
