Greystone Reforestation Plan Open to Parsippany Residents Monday Night
Two landfills, tree removal to occur on 3-acre lot.

Residents will have the opportunity to learn about the state’s reforestation plan as it pertains to the demolition of Greystone Psychiatric Hospital Monday night in an open forum presented by the state.
As part of New Jersey’s No Net Loss Reforestation Act, the Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) will hold a public forum to allow residents to see and hear about deforestation and reforestation on the state-owned lands.
Under the construction details, the state will be removing hazardous materials from the Block 7, Lot 1 of the “new campus” of Greystone that falls inside Parsippany’s borders. The cleanup includes the closure of two existing landfills. Trees from the 3.01-acre lot will also require removal as part of the remediation.
