From the National Weather Service: A chance of showers before 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 72. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.


Here are the top stories today in Parsippany:

  1. We have three articles from Tuesday's Township Council meeting. Here's the first. On video, an employee at the Ajaco Towing building used a racial slur in reference to a Black customer, which resulted in the Township of Parsippany ending their contract with the company. But members of Ajaco Towing claimed at Tuesday's Township Council meeting that their white employees have been victims of a hate crime. (Parsippany Patch)
  2. The Parsippany Recycling Center will stay open on weekends after all. The township reversed on a decision that would have closed the center on Saturdays until November, Mayor Michael Soriano announced. (Parsippany Patch)
  3. Last but not least from the council meeting, Soriano issued a proclamation honoring late Councilmember William C. Taylor Jr. Officials unveiled a plaque in Town Hall. (Parsippany Patch)
  4. Election season is in full swing, and Parsippany's candidates are getting ready to debate. Virtual forums will take place next month for the mayoral and Township Council candidates. The mayoral debate will begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 14, while the council forum will start at 7 p.m. Oct. 15. (Parsippany Patch)
