Yesterday 50 years ago the Delaware Water Gap landscape 37 miles on Middle Delaware and its surrounding 700,000 square acres were permanently for better or worse part of the mission of “unimpaired for future generations” Next year 2016 marks 100 years of the National Park Service itself. Congress needs to reinforce this great agency of which they have demised; along with an uncaring public element of the common sharing of the land god gave..”I here-by declare 26 Oneida Avenue Lake Hiawatha, a local recognition landmark of the National Parks of the United States of America”. Simply reminder love your country defend its resources Our Land is our Nation, Land and people make a Community.The New Jersey frontier still exists; maintain our sacred landscapes, support National Parks they are in trouble.

Our National Parks are failing as we as a people are failing. Defend the resource; how can this be done by Congress first and foremost loving their country, our sacred landscapes and as Americans Getting the Park Service back to its days 50 years past when 37-39 Law enforcement Rangers were present in the Delaware Water Gap National Park. Now that it is being visited more than ever, we have less than 12 Rangers. To some the users I suppose this is good news. Freedom, individual rights, convenience and lack of land ethic and civil virtue all combine to make our Nation substandard that is the exceptionalism; nothing to be proud of.

If we and the Congress loved our Country our National Parks would be gems not trash dumps; its that simple. The Parks System needs some new revival; our land is our religion no land no people. Overwhelming bi-partisan support should be able to muster some resources. What is Homeland security after-all; without love of country, our land our history our bio-diversity? One final problem the area now known as Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, should have a tile change to, National Park, as recreation already exists and need not be a needed downgrade to the mission of “unimpaired for future generations”.
