PARSIPPANY, NJ — Parsippany's rich history got a boost Wednesday, as the Morris County Board of Commissioners approved two grants for renovating the Smith-Baldwin House. The early 19th-century property has been a landmark of the Troy Historic District.

The house will receive two grants totalling about $71,000 from the county's Preservation Trust Fund. The county allocated $56,496 toward improving the shutters and $15,184 to completing construction documents.

The former grant will assist with installing custom wood shutters on the outside. The latter provides for the completion of construction documents related to interior work, which would include a barrier-free bathroom, new finishes, fixtures, lighting and a new HVAC for the kitchen wing.
