House In Road Causing Traffic Delays On 287

This might be a new one: a house is the cause of a traffic jam on Route 287 Friday morning.

MONTVILLE, NJ — Of all the things that might cause a traffic jam on a major highway, a house is pretty low on the list of possibilities. But that's exactly what happened Friday morning when a tiny house flipped over on Route 287.

The home, pictured above, was being towed by a pick-up truck when the truck was involved in an accident. The tiny house flipped onto its side in the middle of the highway.

NJ DOT says the crash happened in the southbound lanes near Exit 52 in Montville. Two lanes were closed for several hours as a result, and delays were as long as 50 minutes. The crash has since been cleared.
