Interstate 80 to Return to Final Configuration This Week

Eastbound Exit 45 to be closed and detoured for daytime repairs.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced that the westbound express lanes on Interstate 80 will be returned to its final configuration this week.

The work will take place tonight and will take place between South Beverwyk Road and Route 202/Littleton Road in Parsippany, NJDOT said in a news release. The roadworks will require temporarily closing one of two westbound express lanes, as well as the ramp from I-287 southbound to I-80 westbound, the release said. Interstate 80’s final configuration will include three westbound express lanes with shoulders.

The NJDOT announced the following detour will be in place around the construction:

  • Motorists travelling on I-287 southbound will be directed to I-80 eastbound to Exit 45/South Beverwyk Road to I-80 westbound.

Additionally, after temporarily closing the exit ramp from I-287 northbound to I-80 westbound on Dec. 18, the following detour will be in place, according to the release:

  • Motorists travelling on I-287 northbound will be directed to Exit 43/Intervale Road westbound to Route 202 southbound to I-287 southbound to I-80 westbound.
