Korean War Vet, Parsippany Resident of Half-a-Century Dies at 85
Benjamin de Castro was the director of finance at Warner-Lambert for decades.

Benjamin de Castro was an accomplished man both professionally and in his personal life.
The Parsippany resident of 54 years died at Morristown Medical Center last week at the age of 85.
De Castro was born in West Orange and grew up in Orange. He moved to Parsippany in 1961, where he lived with his wife and raised a family.

De Castro served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from August 1951 until being honorably discharged in July 1953. He then reenlisted to serve in the United States Army Reserve until August 1959.
De Castro is a Seton Hall graduate and was the director of finance at Warner-Lambert in Morris Plains for more than 30 years before retiring in 1989.

De Castro was an avid golfer, bowler, and Yankees fan and spent many winters in Ft. Myers, Florida with his wife, Evelyn.
He is survived by his wife, a son, daughter, and two grandchildren.
