Mayor Backs Former Parsippany Councilman Seeking Freeholder Re-Election

Barberio says Cesaro, Myers, Tedesco will do what's best for county, endorses trio for Primary Election.

The one Morris County Freeholder candidate who calls Parsippany home has received an endorsement from his town’s top officials.

Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Mayor James Barberio publically supported John Cesaro and his running mates Christine Myers and Angelo Tedesco, the trio of Republicans running for three open seats on the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Cesaro, John Krickus, and David Scapicchio are the three incumbents running for re-election in this year’s Primary Election on June 2. Krickus and Scapicchio joined with Denville Councilwoman Deborah Smith to create a three-person team, while Cesaro joined forces with Myers and Tedesco to run as a group.

Cesaro, a Parsippany councilman from 2006 to 2012, sat on the same governing body with Barberio, who was a councilman from 2002 to 2005 and again from 2007 to 2009.

In a statement, Barberio called the trio – with the name “Morris First” – “great public servants” who will “not govern by the shifts of political winds. They’ll do what’s right for Morris County.”

“I got to know Freeholder Cesaro before he became a Parsippany councilman,” said Barberio. “John Cesaro is a dedicated leader who always put the residents of Parsippany first.”
