Medical Waste Spill Closes Rt. 10 Lane In Parsippany

There were no materials that pose a biohazard in the spill, but you should still prepare for delays.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A medical waste spill has closed one lane of Route 10 W in Parsippany Thursday, with clean-up efforts underway.

The spill happened late Thursday morning when garbage bags full of medical waste fell onto the roadway and opened up. No materials that pose a biohazard (like blood or used needles) are on the roadway, the Township says.

Drivers can expect lane closures along the roadway from 2200 Route 10 West to Route 53. The clean-up efforts have started, but its not clear when all lanes will reopen.
