There were 23 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Morris County on Friday, according to newly released data.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — There were 23 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Morris County on Friday, according to newly released data.

This brings the total number of coronavirus cases to date in the county to 7,548.

There have been 685 total confirmed coronavirus-related deaths in the county as of Friday, according to the NJ COVID-19 Dashboard. There have been 144 probable coronavirus-related deaths reported.

The breakdown of cases by ZIP code are as follows:

  • 07054 (Parsippany): 1,471.7 per 100,000
  • 07950 (Morris Plains): 1,356.7 per 100,000
  • 07866 (Rockaway): 1,071.5 per 100,000
  • Note: All other towns' numbers have been suppressed, according to the data

As of Friday, there have been 193,422 total coronavirus cases across the state, with 14,195 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths and 1,783 probable coronavirus-related deaths.

To date, New Jersey has tested 2,964,722 people and has a transmission rate of 0.9.

There have been 664 coronavirus outbreaks at longterm care facilities across the state as of Friday, and 159 facilities currently have outbreaks. There have been a total of 13,351 staff cases and a total of 24,903 resident cases.

There have been 6,743 longterm care facility resident deaths reported as of Friday, and 121 staff deaths.
