The 96-year-old's service was honored with the trip to Washington, D.C.
PEQUANNOCK, NJ— A 96-year-old World War II veteran and Morris County resident was recently awarded a free trip to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. thanks to Honor Flight.
Hank Conway, a resident of Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, was flown to the Capitol in October to see the memorial. His two daughters went with him.
“It was a fabulous experience,” Conway said. “The people from the Honor Flight Program did so much for the veterans on the trip.”
