Mountain Way Park is located on the mountain that rises up between Route 10 and Central Park, which is now operated by the Morris County Parks Commission and built at the former .
It is a great spot to coordinate a playdate or make new friends.

There are two play structures designed for younger kids. One has a nice long wooden ramp to carry little legs to the top, lower monkey bars for children learning to swing and a few play things to keep them amused.
The other structure is built especially for toddlers with a cute little wooden playhouse and right-sized equipment.

You will also find swings and a four-seated bouncer to accommodate the children you have in tow and a few friends.
This is a very popular meeting spot for local playgroups, because it offers some shade and a small gazebo for moms to gather as they keep a watchful eye on the kids. Parking is also easy and right in front of the play area.
Several large boulders help separate the playground structures from the woods behind them. When we visited, my children ignored the official equipment and spent the entire time climbing and jumping off those rocks. Kind of like when you buy them an expensive toy and all they do is play with the box.
