Nearly One-Quarter Of Parsippany Loses Power
Jersey Central Power & Light reported 23.7 percent of Parsippany customers with outages Friday afternoon.
Update: Jersey Central Power & Light says 655 remain without power as of 3:50 p.m. Friday. The estimated restoration time is 6 p.m.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — Nearly one-quarter of Parsippany lost power Friday afternoon. Jersey Central Power & Light reported 5,692 customers — 23.69 percent in Parsippany — without electricity at about 3:30 p.m. Friday.
As of 3:33 p.m., 3,310 customers in Parsippany are without power. About 2,300 got their power back, according to JCP&L.

The cause of the outage is under investigation, according to a JCP&L spokesperson.

The outage was largely — if not entirely — in Parsippany, as only 25 other outages are active in Morris County as of 3:40 p.m. Friday.
