New Faces Come to Parsippany School Board This Week
Embattled school district to swear in three board members – including two newcomers – on Tuesday.

Parsippany’s board of education won’t have a subtle year ahead, but it will begin its efforts in earnest Tuesday night at its reorganization meeting.
The meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, will swear in three members, including returning representative Tim Berrios as well as newcomers Andrew Choffo and George Blair.
Choffo and Blair unseated incumbents Sharif Shamsudin and Susy Golderer in the November Election.

The new year will pose challenges for the board, which is currently dealing with a 750-member teacher’s union that does not have a contract. That same union has already protested the district’s administration as a discord between faculty and the superintendent’s office grows.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 292 Parsippany Road.
