NewBridge Services Board of Trustees Installs 2017 Officers

NewBridge serves more than 8,700 people each year through counseling services, education programs and affordable housing

The NewBridge Services Board of Trustees installed new officers at its Jan. 26 meeting at the NewBridge Parsippany Center. Betty Cass-Schmidt was elected president, while Marie Episale became vice president and David Crapo treasurer. Former board president Anne Wolfe was named secretary

“This will be a challenging year for NewBridge as the state implements a new funding system for community mental health services, but I am confident NewBridge will persevere under the guidance of our dedicated, talented trustees,” NewBridge CEO Robert L. Parker said.

NewBridge serves more than 8,700 children, adults and seniors each year through counseling services, education programs and affordable housing. With its roots as a mental health community center, the 54-year-old nonprofit has expanded and evolved to meet the growing needs of its communities.

NewBridge: treats mental illnesses and addiction; teaches resiliency to schoolchildren of all ages; counsels children, adults and families, teaching them skills to cope with stress, grief and challenging relationships; runs a successful alternative education program for young adults; helps seniors live as independently as possible; provides psychological first aid during crises; creates homes for individuals and families with special needs; and supports people with mental illness in their communities.
