NJASBO Distinguished Service Award Given Posthumously to Passaic Valley School District Business Administrator
The Late Paul Gerber Receives NJASBO Award

Former Passaic Valley Regional High School District Business Administrator (BA)/Board Secretary and Parsippany resident Paul Gerber recently was honored posthumously by the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) with a 2015 Distinguished Service Award for his long-term, continuous exemplary service. Gerber passed away suddenly in October at the age of 60.
Among just six Distinguished Service Awardees statewide, Gerber had served as BA/Board Secretary for Passaic Valley Regional High School District since 1990; his entire career as a school business official was at the district. Gerber was the first and only treasurer of the Passaic Valley Educational Foundation, where he assisted in organizing fundraising events for 15 years.
In nominating Gerber for the Distinguished Service Award, Barbara Francisco, president of Passaic County ASBO said, “Paul was viewed as an exemplary BA. Prior to his passing, he was named Acting Superintendent, a testimony to the confidence the Passaic Valley Regional High School Board of Education had in his leadership abilities.”
