Par Hills Football to Play for Sectional Title at MetLife Stadium
Vikings shutdown rival Summit in playoff semifinals, will face Cranford on Dec. 7.

As if a shot at the title game wasn’t enough, the Vikings overcame their nemesis to get there.
On Saturday, Nov. 22, Parsippany Hills’ successful gridiron gang had a choice: let history repeat itself, or change the course entirely.
In the past two years, the Vikings have lost to Summit in the NJSIAA North 2, Group 3 playoffs. Last year the heartbreaking defeat came in the championship game.

But 2014 was different, and stellar performances all over the field helped propel the Vikings past Summit by a score of 14-0, according to nj.com.
And Parsippany Hills won the game in methodical fashion, hitting the ground game hard, as Angelo Gallego ran the ball 30 times, amassing 144 yards and two scores. Those scores came on runs of 75 and 1 yard runs, nj.com reported.

Shutouts don’t come by accident, either. Jared Salgado was a menace, recording 14 tackles, while Ryan Shaw snagged three interceptions, the box score showed.
Now the Vikings will head for the big time to capture an elusive crown as they face off against Cranford at MetLife Stadium on Dec. 7 at 1 p.m.
Top-seeded Cranford has done nothing less than stroll through the playoffs, crushing No. 8-seed North Plainfield 46-0, followed up by a drubbing of No. 5-seed West Essex 35-7.
