Parsippany Natives Named Special Officers for Hometown Police Department
2009 high school graduates join force in complementary role.

Marcus Dalakian and Paul Christal are Parsippany to the core, and they’re now fully entrenched in their hometown community.
Both graduated from the Essex County Police Academy, SLEOII Class on Aug. 26, and are now special law enforcement officers for the Parsippany Police Department.
Born and raised in Parsippany, Dalakian is a 2009 graduate of Parsippany High School and volunteers with the Parsippany District 5 Fire Department. He’s also a member of the Rockaway Neck Volunteer First Aid Squad and serves the police department as a communications dispatcher. Dalakian has an Associates Degree in Business Administration from the County College of Morris.

Christal is also a life-long Parsippany resident and graduated Parsippany Hills High School in 2009. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rowan University where he majored in Law and Justice. Christal left the academy with one more accolade after achieving the highest physical fitness score in his class.
The Parsippany Police Department now has seven Class II Special Officers and one Class I Special Officer that support the squad in various ways.
